Prof. Krout received a B.S. in Biochemistry from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) where he performed undergraduate research in biochemistry with Prof. Robert Hinrichsen as a Merck\/AAAS Fellow. During his undergraduate summers, he conducted research in organic chemistry with Prof. William Bailey as an NSF REU Fellow at the University of Connecticut, as well as Mr. Robert Gomez at Merck Research Laboratories in West Point, PA. Michael obtained his Ph.D. in 2009 from the California Institute of Technology<\/a> under the direction of Prof. Brian Stoltz<\/a>. He then moved to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center<\/a> as an NIH Postdoctoral Scholar in Prof. David Gin’s research group. Michael joined the faculty at Bucknell University<\/a> in 2012 as a Visiting Assistant Professor, and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2014. He earned tenure and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020.
